Hi guys, I did some research about the 360 since many ppl have a 360 now and want to play on XBConnect with it. Many operators say: It works like the xbox. Most of them have played on XBC with the Xbox already but cant find there xbox 360.
I found that the problem is the Mac address. The mac address of your xbox and xbox 360 are diffrent.. so XBC cant find your 360 unless Tod ( who is currently Absense ) changes it. I dont know if tod agree's with this , but we will wait for his answer.
Now the second problem is, That many 360 games like GoW ( Gears of War ) have a ping limiter. In a topic maddness already said that probally halo 3 will have this too. So its only possible to play with some one that has a low ping ( I estimate around the 20-30ms ) So that means for the US you need to be in the same state. I dont know if this is ever going to be fixed. Now for the First problem I got some pictures and instructions to find your mac address.
1. Go to the System area of the Xbox Dashboard and select Network Settings
2. Select Edit Settings
3. Under Basic Settings, check to make sure the IP Settings is on Automatic.
4. Now go to Additional Settings, select Advanced Settings.
5. At the bottom of this screen you'll see a heading called Wired MAC Address
There you go! You found your Mac address.
As I said , I dont know if Tod will agree with this. But I would like to see this in the future. That you will send your nick and mac address to tod and that he will change it for you. Till that day , You could try another way. Thats to edit your mac address in the boxes50.ini file.. thats located in your XBConnect folder. But this has been tested with a person who couldnt find his 360. Although you can always try;)
I would like to thank Pjieo for the link with the pictures and Favdaman who helped me searching for all the information with me:) <3
And I hope that this will one day work!
